Anewcompositemagneticchitosancoatedcotton(MSCC)fiberwith3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(GPTMS)asacrosslinkingagentwaspreparedfortheadsorptionofC.I.Reactivered194fromaqueoussolution.ThestructureandmorphologyofMSCCfiberswereanalyzedbyFTIRandSEM.TheadsorptionbehaviorofC.I.Reactivered194fromaqueoussolutionontoMSCCfiberswasinvestigatedundervariousexperimentalconditionssuchascontacttime,temperature,pHandinitialconcentrationofthedyes.AriseoftemperatureacceleratesmasstransferofdyesintotheMSCCfibers.Themaximumadsorptioncapacitiesreachat70℃.ExperimentaldataindicatedthattheadsorptioncapacityofMSCCfibersonC.I.Reactivered194washigherinacidicratherthaninbasicsolutions.Thekineticsoftheinteractionswasbestdescribedbypseudo-second-ordermechanism.
