PET-PEGcopolymerandPET/PEGblendwerepreparedasPhase-ChangeMaterials(PCMs).Theirphasechangecharacteristicsweretested.Bothofthesamplesexhibitedtwomeltingpeaksandtwocrystallinepeaksintheheatingandcoolingprocess.ThemeltingpeakandcrystallinepeakofPEGsegmentsappearedinlow-temperaturearea(lowerthan52℃),canbeusedforheat-storage.ThephasechangeenthalpyofPEGsegmentsofcopolymerwasabout10J/ghigherthanthatofblend.ForPET-PEGcopolymer,thechemicalbondingstrengthisstrongenoughtoensurethatPEGisdetached,soevenabovethemeltingtemperatureofPEG,thematerialstillremainsinthesolidstate.Incontrast,forPET/PEGblend,athightemperaturetheamorphousPEGcanmigratefreelyandleakfromtheblend,thentheblendlosesphasechangecharacteristics.
