ThePAN-basedcarbonfibersareofcore-skinstructurewhichinfluencesthemechanicalpropertiesofthefibers.Toexplaintheeffectofcore-skinstructureonthemechanicalpropertiesofthePAN-basedcarbonfibers,thetensilestrengthofPAN-basedcarbonfiberswasmeasuredandthecore-skinstructurewasexaminedbySEMobservationontensilefractureofcarbonfibers.Therelationshipbetweentheproportionoftheskinparttothewholefiberandthestrengthofthefiberwasdiscussed.Itwasfoundthattheproportionofskinpartonthetensilefractureofcarbonfiberandthemeasuredstrengthofcarbonfiberwasnotclearlineardependent.
